TWS stands for Targeted Weight-bearing Strengthening
The TWS slider helps target muscles that are essential for postural control and maintaining body alignment during movement. These muscles, also involved in joint protection, are negatively affected by lack of gravitational loading such as bed rest, immobilisation following injury, sedentary lifestyles, and poor postural habits. They are very reliant on input from weight-bearing to maintain appropriate activation patterns.
Athletes involved in high volume ballistic activity also often develop muscle imbalances with excessive activity in superficial muscle systems and relative inhibition of deeper muscle systems.
