Carolyn Uhlmann – Registered Psychologist
Carolyn is a registered Psychologist with AHPRA, who is experienced in providing support to people across a range of areas such as; living with acute & chronic health issues, Diabetes, chronic & acute pain, mental health & emotional well-being, trauma, body image and eating issues. Carolyn is also experienced in providing support to those caring for a person with health, disability or mental health issues.
Carolyn currently works part-time as part of a large Diabetes medical team. Previously Carolyn has worked in hospital, health, community and private practice settings. Carolyn is trained in and utilises a number of evidence based practice such as;
- Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT)
- Cognitive & Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
- Motivational Interviewing
- Behavioural therapies
- Coaching techniques
Carolyn values the opportunity to work with people when they face changes and challenges in their life; providing support, and developing skills and strategies to adjust, cope and continue to live a life of value. Carolyn has a strong interest in working with people experiencing health issues, and changes in their health.
In addition, Carolyn is a skilled and experience supervisor and provides professional and clinical supervision to psychologists and other allied health professionals, and is a registered Psychology supervisor with AHPRA.
Carolyn is an associate member of the Australian Psychology Society (APS). Carolyn completed a Bachelor of Science at University of Southern Qld, before completing her Post Graduate Diploma in Psychology at Central Queensland University. Prior to being a Psychologist Carolyn worked as a primary and special education teacher for Education Qld, and worked extensively in the disability sector. Carolyn is currently completing a Professional Certificate of Health & Wellness Coaching, with Wellness Coaching Australia.
